Where in Scripture are the three steps in the redemption of Israel seen together?
The three steps in Israel's redemption are seen together in Ephesians chapter 1, particularly verse 7, where Paul writes that in Christ we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to His grace. This passage sets forth redemption and forgiveness as God's sovereign provision, not what people deserve.
Les teaches that if we keep the order from Corinthians through Galatians and into Ephesians chapter 1, we see almost all three aspects of these three steps in the redemption of Israel right there in Ephesians chapter 1. Paul is writing to Gentile believers in the area he had ministered throughout the Book of Acts, in the western end of Asia Minor, or what is today Turkey. In Ephesians 1:7, the "in whom" refers to Christ of verse 5, and in Him we have redemption—brought back—through His blood. Les explains that God in His sovereign way decided forgiveness of sin would be through the shed blood and no other way, and we take that by faith. He suggests life is in the blood, and new life cannot come until death takes place, which is what the death, burial, and resurrection is all about. God has mandated that there can be no salvation and no forgiveness without the shedding of blood. So in verse 7 we have redemption through His blood and forgiveness of sins according to His grace, not according to what we deserve.
