What did Moses' parents know by faith about God when Moses was born?

At Moses' birth, his parents saw that he was a proper child and knew by faith that God was still in their midst. They recognized that God remained present with His covenant people in Egypt, and that His covenant purposes for Israel had not failed.

Les teaches that Moses' parents, when they saw Moses was a proper child, knew by faith that God was still in their midst. This fits the broader point that some of these people, though not all, had known by faith that these things would happen to God's covenant people. Joseph knew the time was coming when God would take him back up to Palestine. Moses took Joseph's bones with him because they knew they were going to Palestine as Moses and Aaron prepared to move the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Exodus 2:2

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

Hebrews 11:23

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
