Who did God leave the knowledge of His glory with—angels or mortal men?

God left the knowledge of His glory with mortal men, not angels. Even though this knowledge is magnificent, He did not see fit to entrust it to angels but placed it in the hands of human beings, such as Paul and other men, who can share the Word with whoever will listen.

Les explains that in 2 Corinthians 4:7 Paul speaks of “this treasure,” which is the light of the knowledge of the glory of God. Although this knowledge and understanding is magnificent, God did not see fit to put it in the hands of angels. Instead, He left it in the hands of mortal men. Paul was just as human as the rest of us, but it did not stop with Paul. Other men came along, and down through human history, even today, every believer has the opportunity to share the Word with whoever might listen. The treasure is in earthen vessels, which Les clarifies means this body of flesh, made up of the elements of the earth, not a clay pot.

2 Corinthians 4:7

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
