Does the Bible condemn having things?

Scripture does not condemn possessions. There is nothing wrong with things when priorities are straight—seeking first the kingdom. The problem arises when a believer gets hung up on temporal things and loses sight of the eternal. The Bible's concern is misplaced focus, not things themselves.

Les explains that there is nothing wrong with things and the Bible does not condemn them, provided the believer has priorities straight. The world today is set only on the temporal, asking, 'What's in it for me? How can I enjoy life to the full?' But that is not where it's at. The Lord said, 'Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all these things.' If a believer gets hung up on things and becomes more concerned about the temporal, he loses sight of the eternal. Les warns not to be caught in that trap, especially as this age closes and the world rushes toward the scenario for the Antichrist's appearance.
