What is the remedy for being born a child of Adam in sin?
The remedy is the work of the cross—Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Scripture teaches that people are lost not merely because of specific sins, but because they are born in sin as children of Adam and have refused this remedy. The cross has completed everything, and believers now stand on this side of the cross.
Les explains that the human natural tendency is to listen to the old Adam and become sinners, not because of what we have done but because of what we are. People are not lost because they got drunk, cheated, stole, or committed immorality; they are lost because they are born in sin as children of Adam and have refused the remedy, which is the work of the cross. Paul constantly throws out that the cross has completed everything. Les also warns that people are kept in the Gospel accounts and do not get away from Christ's earthly ministry to His death, burial, and resurrection, by which He arose victorious over sin and death. Now we are on this side of the cross, not back in His earthly ministry.
