What does it mean that a veil is upon their heart when Moses is read?

The veil upon the heart when Moses is read signifies a spiritual covering that hides the truth, so hearts cannot comprehend the gospel. It is the same veiling Paul describes, and it remains until the heart turns to the Lord, at which point the veil is taken away.

Les explains that the veil upon the heart when Moses is read means something is hidden from them, so they cannot comprehend the gospel. In 2 Corinthians 3:15-16, Paul describes this veil over the heart, but when the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Les connects this to 2 Corinthians 4:3, where if the gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are lost; something is over it so hearts cannot comprehend it. The veil is a spiritual blindness that hides the truth until turning to the Lord removes it.

2 Corinthians 3:15

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
