Where is there liberty according to 2 Corinthians 3?
According to 2 Corinthians 3, liberty is where the Spirit of the Lord is. This liberty is not the heavy hand of legalism; every believer has it, with the wherewithal to search the Scriptures and come to their own conclusions.
Les explains that when the heart turns to the Lord, believing Paul's Gospel, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. He contrasts this with the heavy hand of legalism, saying every believer has that liberty—the wherewithal to search the Scriptures and come to their own conclusions. He notes that people may disagree with him, but they must do so on the basis of the Book.
2 Corinthians 3:17
