Who usually comes under attack, false teachers or those with the truth?

Those with the truth usually come under attack, not the false teachers. Although false teachers should be the ones bombarded with accusations, the opposite often happens: the ones proclaiming truth suffer attack while false teachers escape it. This is the pattern seen when the truth is proclaimed.

Les explains that the one in the text was being accused of not bringing the truth because he was not agreeing with the Judaizers in Jerusalem. He was no longer working hand in glove with Peter and the eleven, but was proclaiming something they really knew nothing of. He was bombarded with false accusations that should have been reserved for false teachers. Les points out that it is so often the other way around: instead of false teachers being bombarded, those with the truth come under attack.
