Who should false accusations have been reserved for instead of Paul?

The false accusations directed at Paul should have been reserved for false teachers. Instead of the false teachers being bombarded, those holding the truth, like Paul, came under attack. This reversal is striking, because the ones spreading error escaped scrutiny while the truthful messenger suffered unjust criticism.

Les explains that Paul was being accused of not bringing the truth because he was not agreeing with the Judaizers in Jerusalem and was no longer working hand in glove with Peter and the eleven. Paul was proclaiming something they really knew nothing of, so he was bombarded with false accusations. Those accusations should have been reserved for false teachers. But Les points out that it is so often the other way around: instead of the false teachers being bombarded, it is those with the truth who come under attack.
