What enabled Paul to suffer all the privations he lists in 2 Corinthians?

The love of Christ constrained and compelled him, enabling Paul to endure the repeated privations he later lists in 2 Corinthians. His words were prompted by the Holy Spirit, and he suffered for the love of Christ rather than from fickle motives.

Les explains that Paul did not come with fickle language; everything he said was prompted by the Holy Spirit. He was there for the love of Christ, and the love of Christ constrained him. Because of that constraint, he was able to suffer all the privations that he would list later in this II Corinthians letter, going through privation after privation. Les also notes Paul faced accusations of not bringing the truth because he did not agree with the Judaizers in Jerusalem and was no longer working hand in glove with Peter and the eleven. He proclaimed something they really knew nothing of, so he was bombarded with false accusations. Les observes it is often the other way around: those with the truth come under attack while false teachers are not.
