How did Paul respond when he couldn't find Titus?

Paul had no rest in his spirit because he did not find Titus, so he took his leave and went from there into Macedonia. Despite losing track of Titus and not knowing what had happened to him, he was obedient to the Lord's call to cross the Aegean and begin his ministry in Macedonia.

Les explains that in II Corinthians chapter 2, Paul writes that he had no rest in his spirit because he found not Titus his brother; taking his leave of them, he went from thence into Macedonia. Paul was heartbroken and distressed because Titus, for one reason or another, had not been able to keep his appointment at Choas. Yet at that same time the Lord revealed by way of a vision that Paul was to go over into Macedonia, or Greece, and preach the Gospel. Even though Paul had lost track of Titus and had no way of knowing what had happened to him, he was obedient to the Lord's call to go across the Aegean and begin his ministry in Macedonia. Les points out the contrast: Paul was pressed down, distressed, and suffering, yet always triumphant. These are tremendous lessons for everyone because Paul was just as human as we are, with the same passions, appetites, and feelings, and he could get down and could get rejoicing.

2 Corinthians 2:13

I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.
