Where did Paul go after passing by Mysia, and whom was he expecting to meet?
After the Holy Spirit forbade the intended route into Bithynia, Paul passed by Mysia and came down to Choas. There he was expecting to meet Titus. A night vision then appeared to Paul, with a man of Macedonia urging him to come over and help.
Les explains that Paul had been ministering in western Turkey, then called Asia Minor, and had come up to Choas from the area of Derbe and Lystra. He had intended to go back through northern Turkey around the Black Sea and then to Asia, but the Holy Spirit forbade preaching the Word in Asia. After they came to Mysia, they intended to go into Bithynia, along the Black Sea, but the Holy Spirit did not permit them. Passing by Mysia, they came down to Choas, where Paul was expecting to meet Titus. Then a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia begged him, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”
And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
