Les Feldick Bible Study

What promise do believers have when going through trying times?

Believers have the promise that God will be a constant encouragement during trying and testing times. He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who encourages them in every tribulation so they may encourage others in trouble.

Les explains from 2 Corinthians that Paul, writing to the church at Corinth, calls God the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. God encourages believers in all their tribulation. Les teaches that even today, as we go through trying and testing times, we have that promise that God is going to be a constant encouragement. This also answers why bad things happen to good people: God can show us that He is sufficient. The comfort we receive from God enables us to encourage others who are in any trouble.

2 Corinthians 1:4

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
