Does it matter what you're doing when the rapture happens?
It does not matter what a believer is doing when the rapture happens. Whether driving down the highway or asleep in bed, the change occurs in a split second. Those who are alive and remain are suddenly caught up, out of here, regardless of their activity.
Les explains that the term "raptured" comes from the King James phrase "caught up," meaning the same thing. He illustrates with a Denver businessman named Jim who runs a trucking business moving office furniture. Jim told his young workers during a devotional that one day they might see his truck sitting at a stoplight in downtown Denver, and he would be out of there. Les says it thrills his heart when someone sees this so clearly. The point is that if the Lord comes in our lifetime, we will suddenly be gone, whether driving down the highway or asleep in bed; it does not matter.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
