How are believers baptized into the body of Christ — is it with water?

Believers are baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, not with water, but with the power of the Spirit. Those who are in Christ have this baptism, and they are in Christ. This is not water baptism; it is the Spirit's baptism that places them into Christ's body.

Les explains that for those who are in Christ, they have been baptized into the body by the Holy Spirit, not with water, but with the power of the Spirit. He notes that we are in Christ. He then connects this to resurrection: if those kind of people are already dead, they will be raised in resurrection power, but that body raised in resurrection power is still void of the soul and spirit, because they were separated at physical death. The soul and spirit of that believer is already in glory. Turning to 2 Corinthians 5:6 and 8, Les points out that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord, and we are willing rather to be absent from this body and present with the Lord. At death, the believer's soul and spirit immediately goes into paradise in heaven, immediately into the presence of the Lord, but only in soul and spirit.
