What will creation be delivered into when it is freed from the bondage of corruption?
When creation is delivered from the bondage of corruption, which is the curse, it will enter the glorious liberty of the children of God. All creation will then come under their rule and reign, because they are joint heirs with Christ.
Les explains that creation was made subject to vanity, that is the curse, not willingly, but by reason of Him who subjected the same in hope. The moment the curse fell, God promised a Redeemer, as Genesis 3:15 follows the curse. Then verse 21 says the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption, which is the curse again, into the glorious liberty of the children of God. In other words, all of creation is going to come under our rule and reign as we are joint heirs with Christ. Les adds that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together now under the curse, and not only creation, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, that is, the redemption of our body, which will complete it.
