What are young people today like morally?

Many young people today are described as morally bad: they have no compunctions for right and wrong, no principles, and no absolutes in their lives. Such bad friends destroy good young people, making it difficult for good parents to raise a good child amid corrupting influences.

Les teaches that looking back at his own youth and the lives of others, he saw how many good young people were totally destroyed by their bad friends. He says this is what makes raising kids today so difficult, because so many young people are simply bad people. They have no compunctions for right and wrong, no principles, and no absolutes in their life. So good parents struggle to raise a good child in the midst of all those bad friends. He connects this to Scripture, quoting Proverbs 13:20: 'He that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.' Les points out that if you operate in good company you will be successful, but you will never rise any higher than the people you fellowship with, even spiritually.
