Is the way of salvation to repent, be baptized, join the church, and walk the aisle, or simply to believe?

The way of salvation is to believe, to put faith and trust in what God has said, not to repent, be baptized, join a church, or walk an aisle. Those things may have a rightful place, but they are not salvation; salvation is by believing according to the working of God's mighty power.

Les explains that the passage does not say salvation comes by repenting, being baptized, joining the church, or walking the aisle; those things are not the way of salvation. The way is to believe, putting faith and trust in what God has said. He adds that those activities are not wrong in their rightful place, but they cannot save. The verse instead speaks of God's power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. He also stresses that believers are not saved merely to escape hellfire, but to come into a tremendous relationship with Christ as members of His Body.
