Is the increase of knowledge in the last days only secular, or also spiritual?
The increase of knowledge in the last days is not only secular. While exploding technology and secular knowledge mark the end-time scenario, there is also a greater spiritual understanding of Scripture, as God reveals things once kept secret while the age approaches its close.
Les explains that the end-time increase of knowledge includes both realms. He describes a young couple connected with a large bank, where the husband was involved in computerization, and how that conversation showed that exploding technology is rapidly bringing the world to the end-time scenario. He says all the prophecies of the Book could not be fulfilled without such technology, yet that same technology signals the end is near. So yes, there is an explosion of secular knowledge, but Les also sees a greater understanding of the Scriptures in these last days than men had before. He ties this to Deuteronomy 29:29, that the secret things belong unto the Lord our God, and says God has kept things secret but is now revealing them as the end of the age approaches. Thus knowledge is not limited to the secular world; it also extends into the spiritual area and the understanding of God's Word. The transcript then moves to Daniel's vision in verse 5, where Daniel looked and saw two others standing on either side of the river bank.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
