Is Jesus the God who is coming with the saints?

Yes. In 1 Thessalonians 4:14–15 the names Jesus and God are used interchangeably: the God who is coming with the saints is Jesus, and Jesus is the God who is coming with the saints. They are the same, and the wording cannot be switched.

Les explains that 1 Thessalonians 4:14–15 gives another instance where the names Jesus and God are used interchangeably. The God who is coming with the saints is Jesus, and Jesus is the God who is coming with the saints; you cannot switch it because they are the same. This follows Paul’s instruction that believers not be ignorant or sorrow as others who have no hope. If we believe Jesus died and rose again, God will bring with Him those who sleep in Christ. Verse 15 adds that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, for the body of Christ, shall not precede those who are asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:14

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
