What must happen to this corruptible and mortal body?

Scripture teaches that this corruptible body must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. It will be changed and raised incorruptible, fashioned like Christ’s glorious resurrected body, no longer prone to death or limited by time and space.

Les explains that the Lord shall change our vile, corrupt, prone-to-death body so it is fashioned like His glorious body. He reminds us that after His resurrection, Christ walked for forty days in a supernatural body that was not limited by time and space—He could pass through walls or the ceiling. Les says that is the kind of body believers will have. Cross-referencing I Corinthians 15, he notes we will be raised incorruptible and changed into a glorious body like His resurrected body, for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality. He then moves to I Thessalonians 4, verse 13, and links this to the blessed hope of the believer, the soon appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ, which Paul writes of to Titus.

1 Corinthians 15:53

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
