Why will this generation have to suffer so horribly in the Tribulation?
The reason for the Tribulation's horrific suffering on this generation is that more people are alive now than in all prior history combined, so the vast majority of humanity falls under God's wrath and judgment by virtue of their numbers. This period is also the time of Jacob's trouble, when God deals with Israel.
Les explains that the horrors of the Tribulation will be both physical and mental, testing men's sanity. He notes that the day is great and unique, the time of Jacob's trouble, when God is dealing with Israel. He then answers why this generation must suffer so horribly after 6,000 years of human history: because there are more people living now than have lived all the way back to the beginning. Therefore the vast majority of the human race will still come under the wrath and judgment of God by virtue of their numbers. He also observes the horrible wickedness and sinfulness of men, wondering how God can put up with it, and says the world is getting ripe for it. He references Deuteronomy 32:8 and the term 'Most High,' which is mostly associated with Gentile nations.
