Does being ignorant mean you are stupid or incapacitated?

No. Ignorance is not a lack of brain power or a form of incapacitation. It is simply a lack of being taught. A person can be fully capable yet uninformed on a subject, as with someone who knows electricity's effects but has never been taught its technical details.

Les teaches that ignorance is not stupidity or incapacity. In Romans 11:25, the text says, 'I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this secret.' Les explains that when someone is ignorant, it does not mean they lack brain power or are incapacitated to a degree; ignorance is simply a lack of being taught. He illustrates with his own ignorance of electricity: he knows its ramifications, but the details of three-phase electricity are lost to him because he was never taught concerning it. God wants every believer to drop ignorance and pick up the wisdom of His Word.

Romans 11:25

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
