Does the Bible say everyone will be resurrected at the same time?

Scripture teaches that not all people are resurrected at the same moment. While all will one day be raised, including the lost, they come forth in their own order or company, as 1 Corinthians 15:23 separates the resurrections according to God's orderly plan.

Les teaches that Paul, in this resurrection chapter, is making the point that not everyone is going to be resurrected at the same moment, as was seemingly implied in John's Gospel. He notes that Christ is risen and become the firstfruits of them that slept, and that as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Yes, all will one day be resurrected, and even the lost will be raised to face the Judge, Christ Himself, at the Great White Throne. But verse 23 separates the resurrections; every human being who ever lived will come out in resurrection in His own order or company. Les illustrates this with a military organization of companies and battalions, because God is a God of order and has everything implicitly organized, never doing things in a mumble jumble way.

1 Corinthians 15:20

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

John 5

More Questions

Are all the resurrections going to happen at the same time?

The resurrections do not all happen in one event; they occur in an order, with the First Fruits first and then those who are Christ's at His coming.
