Will unbelievers also be resurrected, and what happens to them?
Yes, unbelievers, often called the lost, will also be resurrected. Scripture implies from the Lord's own lips in John 5 that even the lost will one day be raised. They must then face the Judge, who is Christ Himself, at the Great White Throne.
Les teaches that Paul, in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, makes the point that not everyone is resurrected at the same moment. Verse 20 says Christ is risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of them that slept. Since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead; as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Yes, all are going to one day be resurrected. John 5 implies from the Lord's own lips that even the lost are one day going to be resurrected, and they will have to face the Judge who is Christ Himself at the Great White Throne. Verse 23 separates the resurrections, showing every human being will come out in resurrection in His own order or company. Les illustrates this with military organization—company, battalion—and says God is a God of order, never doing things in a mumble jumble way.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
See the restAnd I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
