Where was Abraham standing when God told him to look in all four directions?

Abraham was standing on the high ground, in the mountainous spine of the narrow neck of land between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River. From that elevated place, God told Abram to lift his eyes and look south, north, east, and west, promising all the land he could see to him and his seed.

Les explains that the Lord spoke to Abram after Lot was separated, saying, “Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward, southward, eastward, and westward.” Abraham was on the high ground, in the mountains that run up the spine of the narrow neck of land between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River. Because he was on that elevated place, God could tell him to look as far south, north, east, and west as he could see, and promise all that land to him and to his seed forever.

Genesis 13:14

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
