What was the whole scope of Jesus' earthly ministry?

The whole scope of Jesus' earthly ministry was to fulfill the prophecies that Israel would have the Divine Son of God as their King, Messiah, and Redeemer. Yet they rejected His offer of kingship and crucified Him, with Rome involved. God will later install His King on Zion.

Les explains that together they took counsel against the Lord and His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their bands,” rejecting God’s desire to rule and His offer of the King. Les teaches that this rejection was the whole scope of His earthly ministry: He had come in fulfillment of all the prophecies that Israel would have the Divine Son of God as their King, Messiah, and Redeemer, but they rejected Him and crucified Him, with Rome involved. The triune God in the heavens laughs at mankind’s foolishness: they had the King, and He could have set up His Kingdom, yet they killed Him and said, “Away with Him, we will not have such a man to rule over us.” Les then points to God speaking in wrath, the final seven years of tribulation, and the next event: God sets His King on the holy hill of Zion, Jerusalem, just south of the Temple Mount, from which Christ will rule in His thousand-year reign.
