What was the purpose of Jesus' earthly ministry?

Les explains that Jesus never ceased to be God—He was God in the womb, in the manger, during His growing-up years, and when He began His ministry. The whole concept of His earthly ministry was to prove to the nation of Israel who He was. That is why He performed miracles and signs: so they could understand that He was not merely another great man but the Eternal God. Les also notes that many, including some Orthodox Jewish listeners, cannot comprehend that Christ was the God of the Old Testament or the Trinity, but we accept it by faith.
