Les Feldick Bible Study

What is the believer's prospect of bearing the image of the heavenly?

The believer's prospect is that although he now bears the image of the earthy through Adam, he will not stay earthy. He shall also bear the image of the heavenly, being transformed into that which is heavenly and having a body like Christ's, fashioned after His glorious body.

Les teaches that Israel is earthy and the Church is heavenly, and the two must not be mixed. He explains that believers have borne the image of the earthy because they were born into the human race by way of Adam and their human parents. But they are not going to stay earthy. Their prospect is to bear the image of the heavenly; they will not be bound forever as earth beings but will one day be transformed into that which is heavenly and have bodies like Christ's. Les points to Philippians chapter 3, where believers look for the Lord from heaven, who will change their bodies so they are fashioned after His glorious body. For a glimpse of how believers will function in eternity, Les directs them to study Christ's 40 days after resurrection in the Gospel accounts.

1 Corinthians 15:49
