What is the only way to bring people around to the truth?

The only way to bring people around to the truth is in the spirit of love. Paul realized this, and he said you do not slap them in the face with anger, you do not ridicule them, and you do not put them down as some kind of dummy.

Les explains that Paul, in order to soften his approach and prepare the ground, was prompted by the Holy Spirit to write chapter 13, the love chapter, right between two chapters filled with problems. Paul realized, as well as anybody, that the only way to bring people around to the truth is in the spirit of love. You don't slap them in the face with anger, you don't ridicule them, and you don't put them down as some kind of dummy. Instead, in the spirit of love, you bring them around to the truth. This is what the apostle does in chapters 12 and 14, sandwiched by chapter 13. Les emphasizes that love is still the greatest of all things in God's dealing with man. So as we go into chapter 14, don't lose sight of what was written in the love chapter. Verse 1 says to follow after love and desire spiritual things (or gifts), and there's nothing wrong with desiring spiritual things.
