What happens if you use spiritual gifts without love?

Using spiritual gifts without love is of no value; even being an apostle or a gifted man profits nothing if God’s love is not exhibited. Such a person is better off staying home and should not exercise gifts unless he can do so in an attitude of love.

Les explains that the list of gifts in Corinthians includes apostles, prophets, teachers, miracles, healings, helps, governments, and languages, but not everyone has every gift. He points to a more excellent way—love—and says that even to be an apostle or a gifted man, if they did not exhibit the love of God in what they were doing, they were better off staying at home. He therefore warns that if you cannot do it in that attitude of love, just don't do it.

1 Corinthians 13:1
