Did Paul heal Timothy of his stomach ailment?

No. Timothy evidently suffered from a stomach ailment, and Paul did not heal him. Paul gave him a remedy for it instead. This is consistent with the later pattern in Paul’s letters, where he no longer performed miracles and could not heal the sick, so believers were told to pray.

Les teaches that Paul probably exercised the gifts of healing in the early church, and Acts records that he performed miracles. But when you get to his later letters, there is not a word about these kinds of miracles, and he does not perform them himself; he cannot heal the sick. One of his best friends and fellow laborers was sick on the island of Miletus, near death, and Paul could not heal him. Instead, he admonished believers to pray for him, the same way we do today. Likewise, Timothy evidently had a stomach ailment, and Paul did not heal him; he gave him a remedy for it but did not heal him. The same was true with many of Paul's own catastrophes: the Lord brought him through them, but there was no sign of miraculous healing.
