Where and how sick did Paul become on this journey?

Paul became deathly sick at Philippi, in northern Greece, after leaving Troas. The illness was so severe that he despaired of life itself and thought his ministry had come to an end. This affliction came upon him amid satanic forces and pressure from persecutors.

Les explains that Paul had been under great pressure from the persecutors at Ephesus and then went up to Troas hoping to meet Titus. Because he found not Titus, he had no rest in his spirit. After waiting a few days and ministering at Troas, he journeyed on to Philippi, clear up in northern Greece. It was probably at Philippi that he became so deathly sick he despaired of life itself and thought his ministry had ended. Les teaches that all of this was heaped on Paul by satanic forces.
