Where did Paul get the revelation he passed on to the Roman world?

Paul received the revelation he passed on to the Roman world directly from the Ascended Lord in glory. It came not from the twelve, not from Christ's earthly ministry, but from Christ's position in the heavenlies, as the Holy Spirit prompted him to write.

Les explains that Paul had no contact with the twelve men at Jerusalem, and the Holy Spirit prompted him to write this definitively. When Paul speaks of revelation, he is always referring to what Christ revealed from His position in the heavenlies. In chapter 2, Paul went up to Jerusalem by revelation to convince the twelve that his gospel to the Gentiles was not connected with Judaism. God instructed him to go up to Jerusalem, and Paul communicated the gospel he preached among the Gentiles. Therefore, everything Paul received to pass on to the Roman world was revealed from the Ascended Lord in glory—not from the twelve, not from Christ's earthly ministry, but from the Ascended Lord. Les notes Paul uses the same word again in I Corinthians chapter 11, verse 23.
