Is the husband's headship over the woman like being a slave master?

No. The husband is head of the woman not as a slave master, but according to the order God ordained. Scripture ties this to creation: Eve was in Adam, then God created the woman out of Adam, establishing the man first and the woman from him.

Les explains that the husband's headship is not a slave-master relationship. It is the order God ordained and has maintained through human history. It goes back to creation: when God created Adam, Eve was in him; later God created the woman out of Adam. Therefore the husband is head of the woman, not as a slave master, but in the order of God's things.
