Is every word of the Bible inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit?
Yes. The Bible is fully inspired of God, and every word has been directed by the Holy Spirit. Yet the human element enters in, so each author maintains his own personality. This divine inspiration combined with human personality is the beauty of Scripture.
Les explains that all of Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and everything that happens has been directed by God's sovereign grace, yet the human element always enters in. He points out that although every word has been directed by the Holy Spirit, each author maintains his own personality, and he calls this the beauty of Scripture. He also acknowledges that believers can have differences of opinion on various aspects of Scripture without being heretics, while still affirming that the Word itself is fully inspired.
