What role did pride play in Eve's temptation?

Pride made Eve dissatisfied with paradise and vulnerable to Satan's claim that something better existed. The fruit's promise to make her wise as God appealed to her pride of life, so she desired wisdom equal to God's and took and ate, joining the lust of the eye and flesh.

Les teaches that Eve was living in paradise with no sickness, death, disease, insects, or thorns, yet she was not satisfied. Satan detected that dissatisfaction and said there was something better. When she saw the tree was good for food, pleasant to the eye, and desirable to make one wise, the pride aspect came in: she had everything else, but being as wise as God appealed to her pride. That led her to take and eat. Les identifies this as the pride of life, alongside the lust of the eye and the lust of the flesh—the three areas mankind is still confronted with.

Genesis 3:6

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
