Was Jesus tempted in every way like we are, yet without sin?
Yes. He was tempted in all points, every point of temptation, tested like we are, yet where we fall and fail, He did not. He was without sin. Since He was sinless and perfect, He tasted every situation we face, so we can come boldly to the throne of grace.
Les explains that Jesus was in all points, every point of temptation, tempted or tested like we are. But where we fall and fail, He didn't. He was without sin. Since He was sinless and perfect, yet tasted every situation we come up against, there is an invitation to come boldly into the presence of God. We don't have to shrink; we can come into the very throne room at any time of the day or night, boldly, to the throne of grace, to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Les notes the door is always open, comparing it to an open door policy, and says God instituted it. He then asks what points He was tested like as we are, pointing to 1 John 2:15.
