Are the temptations common to man the same for everyone?
Yes. The temptations common to man are the same for every individual. Nothing comes our way except what is common to man, and they apply to every man, woman, boy, and girl on Earth. God is faithful and will not permit testing beyond what one can withstand, providing a way of escape.
Les teaches that the temptations common to man are the same for every individual—every man, woman, boy, and girl living on this planet. He explains that God is faithful and will not permit a person to be tested above what they are able to withstand. Les illustrates the way of escape by referring to a Greek author's definition: an army entrapped in a canyon with seemingly no escape, until the commander finds another little canyon off to the side. That is the picture, and God will reveal the escape at the appropriate time. Les also notes that the Lord Jesus Himself faced all these temptations, so He knows because He has been there.
