Les Feldick Bible Study

Why weren't the Israelites afraid on the night the death angel passed through Egypt?

They were not afraid because they knew by faith that the blood on their doorposts kept them secure. With the blood applied, the death angel would not strike them; the plague would not destroy them. Their confidence rested in God's promise that He would pass over their houses.

Les teaches that as those Jewish families stood in their little hovels around the kitchen table with the Passover lamb roasted, they were to partake of it for strength for their journey. When they knew the blood was out there on the door post, they did not shake with fear all that night. Why? Because by faith they knew the blood had kept them secure. They knew by faith that with the blood on the door, the death angel would never strike them. They were safe and secure, and they did not have to shake in their boots. God had said, when I see the blood, I will pass over your house, and the death angel will not strike the firstborn; the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you.
