Why must the Church be taken out of the way before God resumes His dealings with Israel?

The Church must be removed because Israel's prophetic program was interrupted, not canceled. After Israel refused to believe and receive her King, God opened the Age of Grace and sent Paul to the Gentiles. When this undetermined Church Age ends, the Church is taken out of the way so God can resume His prophetic dealings with Israel.

Les explains that when Israel would not believe and receive her King, God raised up the Apostle Paul and made known that he was going to send that man to the Gentiles. That opened the Age of Grace, the Church Age. Paul immediately goes to the Jew, but then to the Gentile, and from the time Paul began ministering to the Gentiles with the Gospel of Grace there is an undetermined period of time—now 1900 and some years. Then the Church will have to be taken out of the way so that God can pick up where He left off with Israel, because that all belongs back in the prophetic program. Les also notes that after the Tribulation, Christ will return, set up His Kingdom, and those raptured will come back with Him to rule and reign.
