Does voodooism have real power?

Les explains that pagan religion kept people steeped in superstition and fearful of their gods, and they knew the powers of demons in the air around them. He says America has been less plagued by demonism because Christianity has held those powers at bay, but in other parts of the world demonism is rampant and real. He points to Haiti and voodooism, saying those people know voodooism has intrinsic power; it is satanic power, but it is a power. In Corinth, pagans were similarly aware of demonic power, fearing demons could enter through meat, so they had priests bless it.
