Where do you get the reasons for your church government or organization?

The reasons for church government or organization come from Paul, whether people admit it or not. The qualifications for a pastor or bishop and for deacons are found in I Timothy chapter 3, beginning at verse 1, where Paul sets forth the requirements for leadership in the church.

Les explains that the reasons for church government or organization are obtained from Paul, whether people like to admit it or not. The qualifications for a pastor or bishop and for deacons are given in I Timothy chapter 3, starting at verse 1. A bishop or pastor must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach, not given to wine, no striker, and not covetous. He must also rule well his own house, having his children in subjection. The same requirements apply to deacons. This whole process of leadership in the realm of the Spirit demanded that Paul was married and had children, though what happened to them is unknown. Les speculates that after Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus, which upset his whole apple cart of life, he turned his back on his well-paying position as a member of the Sanhedrin and Pharisees, and he says in Galatians that he profited in the Jews religion. Les wonders what his wife and kids did.
