What conviction did the unsaved physician experience about his wife before he got saved?

Before salvation, the physician was struck with the conviction that his wife was a far better person than he could ever hope to be, prompting him to kneel in his office, confess he was a sinner, and ask God to save him.

Les explains that this unsaved physician had been in a hurry to leave his office and spend Sunday drinking with his buddies at the country club. But before he got out of his clinic, the Lord came on him with such conviction that his wife was a far better person than he could ever hope to be. Right there in his office he dropped to his knees, said, “God, I’m a sinner, save me,” and he was saved. Les notes the man became a church leader almost ever since, a living example of what a believing wife can do without saying a word.
