Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens when an unbelieving spouse becomes a believer?

When an unbelieving spouse opens their heart to the Gospel, the marriage can become a happy relationship and a happy home, and the children will more than likely follow suit. The believing spouse should remain in the marriage if possible and live an exemplary Christian life so that day may come.

Les explains that Paul instructs a wife or husband who finds themselves still married to a rank pagan unbeliever to hang in there. Paul says not to break up the marriage if at all possible, but to live the example so that the day will come when the unbelieving spouse will open their heart to the Gospel. Then they can again have a happy marriage relationship, a happy home, and the children will more than likely follow suit. Les also shares an illustration of a lady whose believing friend stopped in for coffee one morning and led her to the Lord; they are still living the exemplary Christian life together today, showing that it works.
