Will we rule with Christ or under Christ when He returns as King of Kings?

When Christ returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Church will be ruling and reigning with Him, not under Him. Believers are not His subjects but joint heirs with Him, members of His Body, so their position differs from that of servants under a king.

Les explains that Paul never refers to the Lord as the King of the Church, because Christ is the Head of the Body, not a King over subjects. A king rules over his subjects, but believers are not Christ's subjects; they are joint heirs with Him. Although Christ will still come and be King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Church is going to be ruling and reigning not under Him, but with Him. This is a whole different position from being the servant of a king. Paul uses the term Church to mean the universal compilation of believers brought into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, in union with Him and joint heirs with Him.
