What was God's original format for marriage and family at the beginning?
At the beginning, God's original format for marriage and family was one man united to one woman for life, until death separates them. Jesus contrasted this with Moses' later provision for divorce, which was granted because of sin, saying it was not so in the beginning.
Les teaches that Jesus corrected the idea that divorce was part of God's original plan. Moses granted writings of divorcement because of Israel's sin, but Jesus said, "In the beginning it was not so." Les then connects this to 1 Corinthians chapter 6, where being joined to a harlot or prostitute makes a person one with that prostitute.
