How are places of responsibility in the coming kingdom assigned to believers?
Places of responsibility in the coming kingdom are assigned to believers according to their faithfulness during this present sojourn. When Christ sets up His millennial kingdom, believers will rule and reign with Him, and their level of responsibility reflects how faithfully they handled matters here, including settling disputes within the local church.
Les teaches that when Paul asks, “Don’t you know that the saints one day are going to judge the world?”, he is speaking of the millennium. This is where the idea comes from that believers will have places of responsibility when the Lord sets up His kingdom. Those places are assigned according to the faithfulness they have shown during this sojourn here. Believers will rule and reign with Christ, under Christ, of course. Paul therefore tells them to get practiced up by learning to deal with problems between people within the local church, because the day is coming when they will do it constantly as they rule the world under Christ. The world has none of the wisdom God has imparted to every believer; by virtue of being saved, the believer has a wisdom the world does not have and should use it.
