Can you legislate Christian morality?

No, Christian morality cannot be legislated. The carnal mind is enmity against God and is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can it be. You cannot force the unbelieving world to live a Christian life; they will go their own way, and the only recourse is prayer.

Les explains from Romans 8:6-8 that the carnal mind is spiritual death, while the spiritually minded have life and peace. He says the carnal mind is enmity against God and is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can it be. Because unbelievers are enemies of God, you cannot legislate Christian morality or force the unbelieving world to live a Christian life. They will go their own way. Les notes the only thing left is to pray for them, though God will hear their prayer for salvation.

Romans 8:7

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
