Was the apostle Paul superhuman, or was he just as human as we are?

Paul was not superhuman; he was just as human as we are. He felt pain when the whip struck his back, and he suffered cold on the windswept plains of Turkey. Yet by God's grace he endured, and his example shows that believers can follow his steps.

Les teaches that Paul was just as human as you and I. Paul hurt just as much when the whip fell on his bare back, and he got just as cold on those windswept plains of Turkey. Because Paul was human and endured by God's grace, believers can also take it and follow in his steps. Les points to Philippians 4:10, where Paul writes that he may know Christ intimately and the power of His resurrection. That resurrection power is the very heart of the Gospel and makes true Christianity different from the religions of the world. Then in 1 Corinthians 4:16, Paul says, “Be ye followers of me,” because he is the example.
